Charlton Lake Camp, located in Whitefish Falls Ontario, is a housekeeping cottage resort in the heart of Rainbow Country that has been in operation since 1946.

The gateway to Killarney Provincial Park, Charlton Lake Camp is surrounded by 1700 acres of connected waterways and thousands of acres of Ontario forest

The breathtaking beauty of the magnificent La Cloche Mountains loom as a backdrop for smooth-water boating enthusiasts, boaters, anglers and hikers.

The resort has twelve clean, fully-equipped housekeeping cottages, quality rental equipment (boats and canoes), outfitting services and great Northern hospitality.

With an abundance of heavily forested land and crystal clear waters, Charlton Lake Camp is rich in natural resources.

Whether fishing, canoeing, hiking, exploring or relaxing on the sandy beach on the shores of Charlton Lake, the camp offers something for everyone.

All cottages have safe, treated drinking water from all taps in compliance with the current "Safe Drinking Water Act" Ontario Regulation 170/03

OUR COTTAGE ACCOMMODATIONS

Charlton Lake Camp offers one, two and three bedroom housekeeping cottages with fully equipped kitchens and modern three-piece bathrooms.

All cottages have double beds (some have queen-size beds). Bed linens are supplied, personal bath and beach towels are not provided.

Each cottage faces the lake, has a fully screened porch, propane barbecue, picnic table and docking slip.

As a value-added service to our guests we include all of the following with our cottage rentals:

• all linens, pillows, blankets
• dish cloth, dish towel, dish detergent
• full cleaning supplies
• propane barbecue - unlimited propane
• toilet paper
• salt, pepper
• garbage bags
• fully equipped kitchens including all stainless steel pots/pans, coffee maker with filters
• free use of pedal boats
• 5 gallons of gas and oil for each weekly boat rental - Personal Flotation Device, emergency kit

Open May 1st to Mid October All funds are in Canadian $ and subject to applicable taxes

Cottage Booking

• During the summer months weekly bookings or longer are the minimum stay
• Shorter stays may be allowed depending on availability so please ask
• Reservations require a 50% deposit upon booking
• Cheques accepted for deposit but not upon check-in for remainder of balance.
• Please ask for our special Honeymoon package price
• Deposit will be refunded if cancellation is made 60 days or more from the date of arrival (less 10% administration fee)
• Check-in between 3:00pm - 6:00 pm, check-out at 9:00 am (late check-out fee may apply)
• Credit card imprint required upon check-in
• $500 cash or credit card damage/security deposit required for any boat rental
• Cottage is not considered reserved until deposit is received and confirmed by us
• No shows or cancellations within seven days of arrival will be charged 100% of rental
• Guests are considered to be no-shows if they have not arrived by 8:00 p.m. on the check-in day
• No refunds for late check-in or early check-out

Canoe & Kayak rentals, Docking - Please let us know at time of booking the number of personal boats you are bringing so we can ensure docking space is available upon arrival.

FISHING in ONTARIO

FISHING Charlton Lake Camp has access to over 1700 acres of connecting waters, (60' deep) in the surrounding lakes that are home to tackle busting northern pike, feisty small & large mouth bass, whitefish and a variety of pan fish. All of which provide the ultimate test for any angler.

We will point out the best spots, supply you with a map, pass on some tips, and even let you in on a secret lure or two. Don't hesitate to ask!!

The waterfront has a rental fleet consisting of Lund aluminum boats, a pontoon boat and Kevlar & Royalex canoes.

Our motors are Yamaha 9.9 hp (more than enough to fill all your fishing and exploring needs).

We have an exceptional launch ramp, sturdy docking with built-in boat protectors and gasoline. Our facilities are both pleasing and practical.

Our large swimming area has a sandy beach, lounge chairs, a roped-off swim area for youngsters and a large diving (or sunning) raft.

We carry bait, tackle & fishing licenses.

CANOE RENTALS

Canoes We offer Swift and Nova Craft 16 ft Kevlar tripping canoes. They are lightweight and designed for portaging and fit two people with gear comfortably.

We also offer a two-person Expedition Kayak for rent - can be used solo with adjustable seats.

Our location is the closest access point to Killarney Provincial Park. We also offer water taxi service to either entry point (Howry Creek and Grace Lake. Please call for rates and availability.)

- Each canoe rental includes two paddles, two PFDs and emergency kit

- Free parking with each canoe rental

- 50 per cent non-refundable deposit required at time of booking

- Failure to arrive by 6:00 p.m. on the first scheduled rental day means a no show and the full amount of the rental cost will be charged

- Credit card is required for security/damage

HONEYMOON / COUPLES

Our honeymoon/couples cabin has a spacious one room design. The interior is completely finished in pine and has a three piece bathroom (shower only), a complete kitchen including table for two, queen sized extra-long bed and a sitting area. The front has a huge screened porch facing the water and includes a table/chair set and a double hammock suitable for snuggling. The cabin is set back from the other cottages for privacy and is close to our walking trails. The back door looks out upon the towering peaks of the La Cloche mountains.

We include a complimentary honeymoon welcoming gift and the free use of a canoe for the week (a damage deposit is required). The canoes are top quality Kevlar tripper canoes with yokes.

Slide along silently in a canoe or hike a secluded forest trail or mountain ridge.

If you enjoy communing with nature, birding & wildlife viewing, you won't be disappointed.

This beautiful unspoiled land is home to deer, moose, black bear, loons, bald eagles, Eastern timber wolf and so much more.

Our area is famous throughout Canada & the USA. Being the gateway to Killarney Park, a vast area of northern wilderness, our area is rapidly becoming a canoeists haven.

Charlton Lake Camp is the western access point for those who like to canoe into the park "from the quiet side".

We offer our services to canoers with travel advisories, map, canoe rentals & taxi service.

For over 55 years, Charlton Lake Camp has entertained guests from all over the world. We look forward to meeting your vacation pleasures.

THINGS TO DO FOR KIDS

At Charlton Lake Camp we encourage children to do the things that children love to do. We do not offer organized activities, thus allowing children to simply be children.

However, we have children in mind by offering: a sandy, roped off swim area with sand beach where children can meet other children and become friends; there are pedal boats and a swim platform for jumping and diving and playing; we have swim noodles for water play; (we have beach chairs for adults to sit and relax while their children play); we have over 1200' of shoreline for frog searches; we have games, puzzles and books for children to borrow for physical activity or quiet time on one of our hammocks; there is a well-marked trail system on the property; there are swing sets; there is good fishing from the cottage docks.

If the family wants a trip together, we are close to Sudbury and Science North and Dynamic Earth for day trips.

SPECIALS

We are offering three & four night packages.

These specials are available from May 1- June 24 and September 5- October 15, 2005.

We are offering rentals of a cabin and one canoe or one of our Lund 14' fishing boats with 9.9 hp Yamaha outboards

OUR LOCATION Situated just south of Espanola Ontario on Hwy 6, we are easily accessible from Southern Ontario, the NW & Central United States and the Upper Peninsula.
